Understanding THC Concentration
If you’re a regular cannabis user you’re probably familiar with THC as being primarily responsible for the intoxicating, psychoactive effects of cannabis. Although there are over 100 cannabinoids in cannabis, THC is the cannabinoid most heavily associated with how cannabis makes us feel. When consumed correctly, users report feelings of relaxation, euphoria, increased energy and appetite. Too much THC, however, can cause anxiety, increased heart rate, and panicky sensations-- among other less enjoyable effects.
On all packaging, THC content is displayed as cannabis ‘potency’: a percentage of mg per gram. It is important to understand THC potency and how it impacts your body. Each user experience is different, so it is always a good idea to consult with our cannabis consultants! They can guide you regarding your tolerance and help you start slow, especially when trying a new product. In addition to potency, it is also important to consider varying methods of consumption and previous experiences with cannabis.

In addition to storage information, health warnings and product information, there are specific indicators for useful criteria. Any product with more than 10micrograms per gram of THC will be highlighted with a red icon and a subsequent yellow, highlighted message. To guide users toward making informed decisions, a label also features the potency of both CBD and THC. On packaging labels, the first numbers, listed as “THC” and/or “CBD”, represent the active cannabinoid levels in the cannabis at the time of purchase. Dried cannabis will have a low level of active cannabinoids because it has not been heated.
